350lb Autonomous All-Terrain Robot
RIT's Multi-Disciplinary Robotics Club:
Project OVERLORD a 2007 Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition robot will be operational soon. This robot is an enhanced generation of a previous tank robot generation named project HARDCORE. Powered by two C40-300 Magmotors capable of 3.8HP and 4000rpm are available from The Robot Marketplace. These motors were donated to the club by family and friends of one of the club's members and we would not be at the stage of completion that we are now without their support.
I am trying to figure out why one of the suspension arms is binding against a pillow block on one of the tread modules. This is moments before we found out that it wouldn't fit through the door. One of the club members took the robot for a trial push in order to break in the treads. The suspension worked beautifully as it compensated for the speed. This robot will be both software and hardware limited such that it will be impossible to bring it to it's maximum capable speed.
